Day 4--2/29

Morning walk.....gulls were out. Told them to come to the public beach late afternoon....pretty sure they understood.

As I was walking this morning, it dawned on me how we have duplicated my parents’ trips. Mom was always up and walking the beach early and straight to the beach. Dad slept in and then found the shade. That’s exactly what we do! Innate or learned behavior? We certainly never went on a trip with them, so....???

Went to water aerobics and then vegged out in the sun. I took it upon myself to walk 2.5 miles on the trail late afternoon.....so we got morning walk, aerobics and afternoon walk!    
Never got back to feed the gulls, though.

Fixed three meals today, so should go out tomorrow.

I’m saddened by the news of Davy Jones’ death......my heart throb all the way through junior high.

Day 3- 2/28

Whoa----the calves of my legs hurt!! So decided to be lazy and forego the sunrise walk.
Bad idea! Seemed to make the whole rest of the day cranky (on my part).
We did do water aerobics and I’m getting Pamela’s style now.
Then laid in the sun and read for awhile before hitting the flea market and Hard Rock Café.

I then went for a walk to feed the gulls....and I couldn’t believe, there wasn’t a gull in sight? Really??? the whole day kind of went like that.
We don’t watch much TV on vacation (I don’t watch much TV ever), but wanted NCIS...they are fiddling with changing to digital/analog,..whatever and until mid-evening we could not get any English speaking channels. Oh well.

 Most frustrating day with internet as well...web pages and e-mail just rolled and rolled and could get nothing. So just before writing this I thought “hmmm....wonder if it is just where the computer is at on the table and wireless can’t pick it up or something”....so moved to the sofa and wha-la.....no problems. Wasted a whole frustrating day on that. Again, oh well.

Dale is actually out reading me!! Who ever thunk that would happen? He read an entire book yesterday. I’m more antsy....get up and take a beach walk, swim a couple laps...whatever.

Anyway....today is another day!...and if I’m right, it’s the 29th of February????
And most of you will be hunkering down at home in South Dakota! Enjoy!!!

February 28

Day 2----2/27

Had a great walk on the beach at sunrise. I wore a pedometer today as I take the same route each day. It said I only walked .6 miles!! What??....seems a lot more than that. Takes me about 35-40 minutes and I generally walk about a 16-17 minute mile. Of course, we are talking sand and I sometimes saunter and stop and admire everything (and yes, take pics)..
                   
Came back and laid on the beach and then made pancakes and bacon for breakfast.  Now we are heading to water aerobics!
                   


We have Pamela for aerobics this year.....we liked Tomas better....oh well, we’ll give her some leeway! (-:

Pretty much laid out and read the rest of the afternoon. Then came in and fixed spaghetti for supper. We looked for ground turkey @ Walmart; couldn’t find that so got (what we thought was) ground chicken ....turns out it was ground pork...oh well.....why do I always forget my dictionary when I shop????  So had pork chops last night and ground pork tonight. Tomorrow, we may actually go out!   

Now settling in for the evening. It always seems weird when it turns dark when its so warm. But I still sit out on the deck. They made some improvements and one was to put reading lights on the deck!!

Next was the welcome party. It ain't what it used to be.....no limbo, no dancing....just a beer race and balloon toss. After how many years of coming here, I still haven't won a t-shirt----Jord's first trip, he wins like 4!!,...then gives them to his sister and niece!!! What??? (just kidding).....so finally had our name pulled and they are giving beach bags this year....sigh...oh well!

After that, it was on to Walmart for the weekly grocery shopping. We THINK we got everything we need and again, everything went smoothly. Now sitting on the deck, enjoying the evening warmth (and watching the pirate ships go by) A great day in Cancun!!!

Day 1- 2/26/12

      Good Morning, Mexico!

I start my walk about 5:30----not quite light yet.

Having got some exercise, now time to veg out. In the sun by 8:00 a.m....


Lesson learned....if even it is only 8:00 a.m. and cloudy...if you are of Scandinavian background from SD and visiting Mexico.....wear sunscreen!

We're Off!

Saturday was almost strange. We were up and at 'em early. Flight left Aberdeen right on time....had a Burger King breakfast, sauntered  to our gate and then the Cancun flight boarded on time. Now not that I'm pessimistic or anything, but hey, I got lots of experience at this. Surely we'll sit on the runway...mechanical problems, etc. But indeed, we left on time and even got to Cancun early. Of course, we couldn't deplane because the gate wasn't open yet, but I can handle 15-20 minutes!!

Grabbed Thomas Moore with only 2 other couples, so we weren't really even squished in!

Got to Royal Cancun and we actually got the villa promised!! WOW----what a day I don't think we've ever had a day of travel go that smoothly!!

Got settled in and then I had the most delicious prime rib at Lapala's. (so much for the heart healthy diet).
